RASA Community
RASA means Rational And Scientific Application.
RASA Community has two sport activities:
1. RASA of Shui Liu (Shui Liu Fa)
Special training to build healthy-smart-wise people, to improve human resource development
2. RASA of Aiki (Aikido with scientific method)
To let Aikido practitioners learn Grand Master Ueshiba Morihei's teachings of ki musubi and ki-shin-tai no toitsu, and practice it reallistically, rationally and scientifically
RASA Community is open for any people, male or female. And, the training (the sport activities) are called RASA Training.
RASA of Shui Liu
Shui Liu means the flow of water (the character and the flow of water). Its former name was Shui Liu Fa. Some old learning of nature / water that re-introduced by Huang Hexiang.
RASA of Shui Liu is an educative and creative sport for any gender and age.
RASA of Shui Liu is to build healthy - smart - wise people through easy exercises, such as:
1. Natural physical exercise
2. Memory & Left-right activity exercises
3. Creative artistic exercise
4. Problem solving & decision making exercise *
5. Harmonious teamwork & leadership exercise *
6. Emotion control exercise *
7. 4-GENTLE exercise (for realistic, rational, scientific self-defence)
These * exercises are formerly to build human capital (managerial officers and staff) of some business companies.
Is it possible to improve human resource development through a gentle exercise? And why should use RASA of Shui Liu?
The answers:
It has been proved effective to build healthy-smart-wise people / managerial officers, not only possible.
The reason is that RASA of Shui Liu, a gentle exercise, is a natural, rational and scientific exercise without causing any injury. It also gives problems with great risks to avoid (by solving the problems well) and almost no time to think (that one should make a wise decision as soon as possible).
RASA of Aiki
RASA of Aiki (Aikido with scientific method) realizes the teachings of Aikido kaiso, Ueshiba Morihei O Sensei:
1. ai (moral of love)
2. ki-shin-tai no toitsu
3. ki musubi
but RASA of Aiki (Aikido with scientific method) is different from the present traditional Aikido.
RASA of Aiki (Aikido with scientific method):
1. can be applied in any clothes (even the ones that cause some difficulty in movement, such as kimono, shanghai dress, long dress, party dress)
2. can be practiced in any place, for example in a small room with furniture and without mats / tatami
3. use a very natural and safe FALL or ROLL (ukemi with one buttock only, not bones)
4. should be done with the moral of Aikido 'ai' (love) - without negative thinking (without atemi), and should be done with ki musubi and ki-shin-tai no toitsu (the most important thing in Aikido)
5. may change the model of the movement (outer look of Aikido) which usually known as waza - to make it realistic, rational and scientific
6. shoud be done realistically (using present frequently used type of attack), rationally (should not be done in dangerous zone), and scientifically (easy, effective, efficient, without much energy, without large space, without plenty of time)
7. can be applied in any bad position, limited condition, bad situation
8. may be compete in a harmonious teamwork competition (a competition for real skill, but without any risk of injury)
9. can be understood in much shorter time (around 1/5 time)
Aikido with scientific method was created by combining the teachings of UESHIBA Morihei (the founder of Aikido) with the teachings in Shui Liu Fa / RASA of Shui Liu.
Sample exercise in RASA Training:
The problems to face:
1. Wearing clothes with difficulty in stepping, for example clothes for a formal party or ceremony such as the formal kimono, shanghai dress, Bali traditional clothes.
Dogi and hakama do not cause any difficulty in stepping.
2. Being attacked in a sudden with a knife at a short distance.
3. The attacker is stronger and much younger, who also very aggresive, always tries to find a chance to deliver another attack.
4. The quality of the process should be merciful (no negative thought) and safe.
5. The victim has a limited ability. For example, he only knows or has to apply a solution called GENTLE DROP.

While wearing BALINESE traditional clothes:
1. Someone comes near and suddenly wants to hurt you by
stabbing you with a knife before robbing you.

2. Get out of the dangerous zone and do harmonious
response without negative thought.
Pay attention to his other attacks, either with his other
hand or his feet.

3. Use your mind and your will. Use them to improve your
movement. Then, press him down to make his knee bend
and make him off balance, then, fall by himself.

4. Don't let him fall on his back and kick you. Push and
press his upper back with your right foot.

5. Take away his knife without erasing his finger print on
the hold of the knife. And, be merciful.

Character of the techniques:
1. Relaxed, simple, on the spot or with small steps
2. Without negative thought (no counter attack / atemi)
3. With harmonious response
4. With harmonious activity among mind - will - body movement
5. Without much physical energy, large space nor plenty of time.
6. Applying the knowledge in psychology, physiology, physics, and rules of law.
Note:
When you face a fast attack with a unique, dangerous, risky weapon (eg. a sickle), don't think too much about what suitable Aikido waza should be applied. You will get hurt.
Just do harmonious response / ki musubi (move in harmonious direction) and do a simple, natural movement with your feeling and your will (activity with feeling, brain and will / ki-shin-tai no toitsu).
Don't look at the attacker's hand. You won't see other dangers.
Don't forget to pay attention to his other hand, feet, and mouth. Also, pay attention to the circumstance.
